Splash Select is a new game on this Web site. The rules are simple: Eight games each weekend chosen from high school, college and professional football schedules. You guess who is going to win. Predict outcomes accurately and you may earn prizes (weekly winners get a $10 gift certificate to All Sports Grill & Bar and a case of Wired energy drinks donated by the Odom Corporation; overall season winner takes home a $100 gift certificate to Great Harvest Bread Co.).
Of course, we select games featuring local teams as much as possible for Splash Select. And with schools like Washington State and Washington predicted to have a down year in 2008, doing well may mean betting against the home team's chances from time to time.
Twelve local businesses are challenging Splash Sports Editor Chad Kimberley in Splash Select, and that contest will be featured in a full page Splash ad each week. But that group can't win the aforementioned prizes. So log on each week (it's free) and play for fun and prizes.
