We alluded in our Ripples column this week to a bizarre story that took place at the Spokane Valley Wal-Mart June 6 involving a Liberty Lake man. An updated story in today's Spokesman-Review (link may require registration) gave more of the Liberty Lake resident's side of the story. The gist: the man said he thought he was witnessing an assault, but ended up assisting a shoplifter in escaping Wal-Mart security guards.
The man was arrested, booked into jail and is now fighting criminal charges.
