The following incidents, arrests, calls for service and citations were reported by the Liberty Lake Police Department for Aug. 16-23.
Incidents and arrests:
• Suspicious person - Police responded Aug. 17 to the report of a suspicious person in the area of Allsport Polaris on the 19500 block of Broadway. The business recently was burglarized. The reporting person told police they saw a subject with a backpack walk behind the building and possibly scale the fence of the business. A Spokane County Sheriff K9 assisted in the search. Police didn't find anyone, and the manager said no items appeared to be missing. Video surveillance showed the subject entering the fenced area but then jumping back over it and fleeing the scene when officers arrived.
• Lewd conduct - Police assisted the Spokane County Sheriff's Department Aug. 17 with a lewd conduct report on the 26500 block of East Appleway. An anonymous caller reported that two men were having sex in a vehicle parked near the Spokane River north of the dog park, and it appeared that people in several other vehicles were watching. When officers arrived in the area, several vehicles drove away. Police stopped two of the vehicles, and one subject told officers that he frequently came to the area looking for sex with men and that day he was watching other men have sex, according to the police report. The driver of the second stopped vehicle denied he had any involvement. Police arrested the 68-year-old Liberty Lake man for driving under the influence.
• Theft - Police received a theft report Aug. 18 of wheels and tires from a vehicle parked at George Gee in Liberty Lake. The suspect removed the wheels and tires from a 2011 GMC Denali parked in the lot, the manager of the dealership told police. The estimated loss is $4,700. Police found tools in the area and collected fingerprints. The manager also provided police with information about a possible suspect.
• Burglary - Police responded Aug. 20 to the report of a burglary on the 2200 block of North Sedge Lane. The complainant told police that the prior evening, a garage door was inadvertently left open, and someone took a paintball gun, gas can and also a purse from an unlocked vehicle.

• Suicidal subject - Police responded Aug. 20 to a suicidal subject threatening to shoot himself on East Nora. After containing the home, police negotiated with the subject to come out and surrender to officers. The man was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center for an evaluation.
• Domestic violence - Police received a report Aug. 22 of domestic violence on the 21200 block of East Country Vista Drive. Police found that the suspect entered the victim's apartment and yelled at her. The victim told the man to leave, but he continued to yell until the victim called police and he left. Police have requested from the prosecutor's office a first-degree criminal trespass domestic violence charge.
