Kerry Masters on Bruce Andre's July 29 letter to the editor, "Special zoning would be ideal for lake and hillsides": "I am glad you have cleared up the confusion from the July 22 article, "In search of protection." At the time of the incorporation we did not have (and still do not have) a special zoning for the area south of Sprague. If we wanted to incorporate into the city, we would have had to agree to the urban designation, and everyone (city and county alike) would have been powerless to stop urban-style development all throughout the lakeside forested areas because once they receive the urban zone designation, they follow the rules for urban zoning, and not even the best intentions can stop that from happening."
Steve Vogel on the July 22 article, "Big Head Todd ready to rock": This was an awesome concert. We need more like it. I knew Big Head when they were nobody. They are great; bring them back!"
