Library's spring social event a success
The FRIENDS of the Liberty Lake Library held their sixth annual spring social event entitled "Seren-dip-a-ty" on Saturday, April 24 at the LDS Church. It was a huge success. Thank you to all of the ladies who attended and who participated in the silent auction. The proceeds will benefit the library in purchasing equipment and sponsoring various programs throughout the year.
A special thank you (to) keynote speaker Phyllis Stevens, who spoke on "Container Gardening," thoroughly entertaining while informing the group on many aspects of gardening in the Northwest.
Thanks to Annette Carter who generously painted and donated this year's theme art piece. It was the essence of the event.
We appreciate the continued corporate sponsorship from Bernardo Wills Architects. Their generosity embodies the concept of giving back to the community you live in. Advertisement
Thank you to the Liberty Lake Church of Latter Day Saints for donating the use of their facility.
We hope to see all of you next spring!

Give walkers a warning
Seven days a week, I walk over three miles through Liberty Lake with a friend, rain or shine. When the weather is good, there are always lots of people out enjoying our beautiful community, and that's a good thing.
What would make it so much nicer is if people who are riding their bikes, driving golf carts, running or even others walking behind could just say a quick "behind you" as they are approaching walkers ahead of them. That way, we can safely move out of the way and not be so startled when people are passing. This would be greatly appreciated.
