Community Briefs Two teams from Stepping Stone Christian School, Liberty Lake Church and Eastpoint church are going to Guatemala this summer on a combined medical mission trip. On June 13 the group is holding a car wash to raise money for the trip from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Liberty Lake Sterling Savings building, 22408 E. Appleway. The group also is holding a missions team garage sale at 24608 E. Maxwell Lane to coincide with the Liberty Lake Community Yard Sale on Saturday. The team includes Liberty Lake residents Brooke and McKenna Stocker, Jennifer and Cole Fisk, Annika Brumpton and Danyll and Taryn Van Lierop. In Guatemala, the team will paint schools, lead children's chapel in remote villages and hold medical, dental and vision clinics.

Library expands Saturday hours Starting last weekend, the library now is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., two more hours than before. The library, located at 23123 E. Mission Ave., also is open during the week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday and noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. The library now will be open 46 hours a week.
Senior Fitness classes offered The first class is designed to improve cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, flexibility and overall sense of well-being. It will run from 9 to 10 a.m., and the cost is $16. The end date is Aug. 20. The second class is designed to help improve fitness and overall range of motion through water walking, stretching and other water exercises. This class will run from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., and the cost is $18. The end date is Aug. 13. For more information, call the Seniors Program office, 533-4756.
Police host bike rodeo The department is planning to create a database of bikes so they can be returned to owners if missing or stolen. The event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the department, 23127 E. Mission Ave.
Parenting forum to meet The free forum meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Liberty Lake Municipal Library's meeting room, 23123 E. FOPP looking for volunteers Friends of Pavillion Park meets monthly on the first Thursday of the month and produces the Summer Concert Series, Outdoor Cinema, Liberty Lake Loop Fun Run, Holiday Ball and awards college scholarships each year.
