Incidents and arrests: • DUI - Drivers on westbound Interstate 90 called police Aug. 23 to report an erratic driver east of North Harvard Road. Witnesses said the vehicle crossed lanes of traffic and nearly hit other cars before taking the Harvard Road exit. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the 18-year-old female driver for being under the influence of a controlled substance. • Suspended license - Police arrested a 35-year-old Liberty Lake man on Aug. 24 for third-degree driving with a suspended license and failing to have an ignition interlock device. • Hit and run - A hit-and-run accident was reported to the Liberty Lake police Aug. 23. A woman told police her car was struck while parked in the Albertsons parking lot, 1304 N. Liberty Lake Road. The unknown vehicle damaged the passenger side door of the victim's car. She later told police she didn't want officers to complete an investigation. • Sex crimes - An officer parked Aug. 26 at Gateway Park just west of state line at the request of the Spokane County Sheriff's Office and parks department to assist with law enforcement in the area and watch for vehicle prowls. The officer witnessed two males involved in sexual activity on a well-traveled dirt trail near the Centennial Trail. Officers contacted the two men, and pursued one on foot. The 43-year-old Spokane Valley man and a 66-year-old Post Falls man were arrested for indecent exposure. • Runaway - Police responded Aug. 26 to the report of a found runaway on the 20200 block of East Nora. The resident of the home told police she didn't know the 15-year-old girl was a runaway. Police took the girl into custody without incident and later found prescription pills inside her purse, according to the police report. The girl reportedly told police she used drugs and alcohol and had been to drug rehabilitation. She was arrested for unlawful possession of drugs and released to her parents. • Vehicle prowls - Police responded Aug. 28 to the 25000 block of East Hawkstone Loop to investigate vehicle prowls. Police found three vehicles were prowled and only paperwork and registrations were removed from the glove departments. Police have no suspects at this time.
