Camp out in Pavillion Park
Pitch a tent in Pavillion Park for Greenstone's first-ever Family Campout.
The event coincides with the free movie in the park, "Over the Hedge," sponsored by Greenstone and Friends of Pavillion Park The campout cost is $10 per person, and registrations are available in The Splash.
The camp starts with signing in between 5 and 6 p.m. and tent setup between 5 and 8 p.m. A barbecue dinner is provided from 6 to 8 p.m. The outdoor movie will play at dusk, and camp songs will follow. A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. the following morning and pack up is 9 to 10 a.m.
"We’ve seen it in other neighborhoods across the country, and we thought it would be a cool thing to bring to our community," said Drew Miller, a Greenstone employee. "It’s hard for families to get out and go camping, and this is close to home."
Greenstone is asking campers to register two to three days in advance. For more information, call 252-7507, ext. 220.
