Liberty Lake will keep its Starbucks.
Starbucks Corp. has named all 600 company-owned stores it plans to close in a bid to boost its business, but only one will occur in Spokane County.
A total of 19 stores in Washington will be shut down, according to a press release from the company.
The Washington closures include seven stores in Seattle and one store each in Aberdeen, Burlington, East Wenatchee, Federal Way, Kent, Orting, Port Angeles, Tacoma, Tukwila, Yakima and the store at 3907 N MARKET ST in Spokane.
The company has more than 15,000 stores in 44 countries.
Closing the stores is a turnabout from Starbucks’ aggressive expansion plans. The coffee chain is responding to recent declines in its profits and foot traffic as the faltering economy has led some consumers to question their spending on pricey java.
