LL Athletic Club gets new owners

The Liberty Lake Athletic Club announced this week that starting Aug. 1 it will be under new ownership.
The Long family, who has owned the club for the past five years, is selling to a couple with a history of local club management.
Here's a letter from the new owners:
Dear LLAC Members & Employees,
I am pleased and excited to share with you that my wife, Emily, and I have purchased the fitness club from the Long family. First, I would like to introduce myself and tell you about my background. I grew up in Colfax, WA area on a family farm. I attended St. John/Endicott High School and afterwards made the short trip to Washington State University whre I majored in Accounting. I have worked as a CPA in the Seattle area for the last 5 years. I met Emily at WSU and we were married in April of 2006. Emily is an elementary teacher who, prior to our move to Liberty Lake, worked in the Snoqualmie Valley School District near Seattle where she taught fourth grade. Emily grew up in CdA and attended Lake City High Schoool.
Because we are both from the Eastern Washington/N. Idaho area and are avid Coug fans, we have been looking forward to moving east of the mountains for quite some time. Emily's family has owned and operated athletic clubs in N. Idaho for 30 years and currently operates Ironwood Athletic Club in CdA, World Gym Hayden Lake, and World Gym Post Falls. Our intention with the LLAC is to make it part of this network and allow our members to enjoy each facility.
While the change in ownership may come as a surprise, we fully intend to operate the club in the same manner as the Long family, with superior service, clean and quality facilities, and to create a collaborative environment where employee and member thoughts and ideas are always welcome.
Th official close date of the sale is July 31 but Emily and I will be in the club owrking with the Longs in the meantime in order to make the transition seemless. We very much look foreward to meeting each of you and settling into Liberty Lake. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask us. I can be reached at (206) 818-0097 or gbafus@hotmail.com. Also, the office door is always open!
Sincerely,
Grant & Emily Bafus
Are you a member of the LL Athletic Club? What do you think about the change? The possibility of connecting to the N. Idaho network?
