Liberty Lake man dies in car accident

A Liberty Lake man died in a car crash Tuesday on U.S Highway 95 south of Coeur d’Alene.
Gary G. Lawrence, 72, was northbound in his 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when a Coeur d’Alene man lost control of his pickup while southbound on the slush-covered highway about 4 p.m. and struck Lawrence’s vehicle head on, according to Idaho State Police.
A van driven by a Blanchard man then rear-ended the Malibu, according to ISP.
Lawrence was pronounced dead at the scene; the other two drivers were treated and released at Kootenai Medical Center.
The crash blocked the highway for three hours.
