Comcast’s takeover of Community Cable Service’s network in Liberty Lake hit a bump this week, when hundreds of customers received letters notifying them of canceled service and asking for their cable equipment to be returned.
The letters to former Community Cable Service customers were sent in error, and Comcast is working to call each one, said spokesman Walter Neary.
Comcast’s response: “Please disregard this letter, it was sent in error during the process of transferring your account to our Comcast billing system. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at 1-800-Comcast. We apologize for any inconvenience."
Comcast, the nation's largest cable provider, recently purchased the Liberty Lake network from Community Cable Service, the community's primary Internet and cable company since 1969.
