About Us

Founded in 1999, The Liberty Lake Splash is the source of news and information for the greater Liberty Lake, Wash., area. A free newspaper, The Splash is shipped directly to every address in Liberty Lake at the end of each month and is posted online with content updates throughout the month. Since 2004, The Splash has been owned by Peridot Publishing LLC, the legal entity set up in Liberty Lake to operate The Splash and its related publications, including The Current newsmonthly which is distributed for free to more than 230 high-traffic locations in the Valley area. Peridot Publishing also produces the Liberty Lake Community Directory and the One Valley Business & Community Directory.

Members of The Splash team include:

Josh Johnson, Editor and Publisher

Member of Splash team since 2004
Former opinion page editor, copy editor and reporter

Josh and his wife, Kim, purchased The Splash in March 2004 from founders Shaun and Nathan Brown, aiding his return from the Midwest to his hometown of Liberty Lake. His family members first moved to the community in the 1950s, and he is passionate about the lake, the people, bicycling on the trails and supporting local businesses. He is a proud CV Bear. In his free time, he covets game nights with his family, reading and playing video games with his daughters and salivating over destinations for his next Splash Travels photo.

Tammy Kimberley, General Manager
Also aunt, soccer mom, occasional runner, dessert lover
Member of Splash team since 2008
Journalism graduate of John Brown University

Tammy is the point person for all things operational with a focus on organizational structure and project planning. She believes one of the best parts of her job is talking with area children for The Wave kids' newspaper. Her idea of a perfect day includes hiking with her family, take-out pizza and a good book. Tammy is grateful for simple days at the beach, mingling among the produce at the Farmers' Market and enjoying all the outdoor opportunities the area has to offer.

Sarah Burk, Graphics Editor

A Montana native, Sarah wouldn't live anywhere but the Northwest and currently resides in Spokane Valley with her husband, Bret, and their son, Kaden.
